Standing Up For Your Beliefs

In Daniel Shad'rach Me-shach and A-bed'Nego' were faced with a life threatening dilemma; Bow before the idol or stand up for their beliefs and be killed. Many times in our walk, we don't stand up for what we believe in to avoid embarrassment. But what would we do if standing up would cause death?

Daniel 3:16 S.. M.. A.. answered and said to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.
17 If that is the case our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king.
18 But if not let it be known to you, O king that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up."

We all know the story, God did a marvelous miracle and saved the lives of his servants and change the kings heart.

Recently God has revealed to me to take a stand for what is right and not allow people to pressure you into doing certain things. Since my freshmen year in a business college I have been told that you will have to drink alcoholic drinks, now in my junior year I have decided under no situation will I and God revealed to me you don't want to work for someone whose going to pressure you into putting aside your moral standards. I have been told by professors and students "you wont get hired if you won't drink." but lets take a look at

Daniel 3:30 Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the province of Babylon.

This really encouraged me because when we stand up for what is right we may not immediately be favored by man but God will show us favor and bring promotion.
