It has been awhile since I last posted, mainly because I have been over loaded with school work in my last two weeks of my junior year at college. But during these times I still try to find time to read and today's post is from my readings a few days ago.
At first when I read Daniel Chapter 7 I wasn't really paying attention, just reading and a few things stuck out to me but I didn't really grasp what I was reading. So I re-read it today and got a better understanding of the Chapter
In chapter 7 Daniel is explaining his vision, and it consists of a Eagle rising up, a Bear which arises and devours flesh, then a leopard which had dominion and lastly a fourth and dreadful beast exceedingly strong which had iron teeth and was devouring and breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. The beast had ten horns, and one little horn coming up among the ten and it plucked out 3 horns that were there before it. This horn was like a man and had a mouth speaking pompous words.
I wanted to just summarize the vision, and after the explaining of the 4 beasts Dainel saw God and his thrown and in verse 11 Daniel watched as the beast was slain because of his pompous words. then in verse 12 is what is of interest in this part.
Daniel 7: 12 As for the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away, yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time.
The point of this last verse I went over can mean many different things, but I feel it is kind of saying; God rose up and slayed the beast after he let him reign for a season. But people are going to see the other beasts lives prolonged for a season. In this season may be the most dangerous time because people are going to feel they lost and the saints may feel like their kingdom is on standby. The thing to take away from this is God works in steps and processes and we shouldn't question these steps but know the end outcome is always victory for his kingdom. Even though it appears the lives of the beasts are prolonged their dominion has already been taken away, they have no authority, they have already lost and there is no chance for them to win.
So remember God has a plan and his plan is usually to complicated for us to comprehend or understand. The only thing we need to know is it is in God's hands and we know the end outcome will be in our favor.
