I Shall Never Be Moved

For the last week, Psalm 30 has been on my heart. Every time I have went to my bible I have felt to read it. It is a very short Psalm and has a few famous verses in it but some of the not so famous verses are the ones that are really speaking to me. Starting with

Psalm 30:2 O Lord my God, I cried out to You, and you healed me.

:3 O Lord, You brought my soul up from the grave; You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

Verse 2 is so simple but at the same time powerful. "I cried out to You and you healed me." I can just imagine David crying out to God and God answering him like he did so many times.

Psalm 30:5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

:6 Now in my prosperity I said, "I shall never be moved."

:7 Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain stand strong; You hid Your face and I was troubled.

For any Christian verse 6 should be your promise to God, that no matter what success comes your way, blessings and prosperity that you will never be moved; you will always serve the Lord and seek his face. It's not that we say to ourselves "as soon as I arrive I am going stop serving the Lord." but what happens is we become caught up with our success and accomplishments we begin to lose sight of the things that really matter, serving God and living a righteous life. God wants us to rely on him and seek him, not only when were going through hard times and trials. But on a daily basis we need to say "Jesus I need you and I am so thankful that you have met all my needs."

:12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.

This Psalm ends very appropriately by saying to the end my glory will sing your praise and I will give thanks to the Lord forever.
