Throughout the past several years I have seen strong Christians who were raised in the Church come and go, I have seen powerful out pourings of God's spirit and conviction on the lost who confessed turned and left again to their old ways and I have seen people humbly turn from their sin and serve God faithfully. Through all of these events and many more coming and goings I have learned one thing that couldn't be said any better then God himself
Matthew 7:13 Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.
:14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Being a Christian is hard, I now tell people that if I have a chance to witness to them. Recently I told someone it isn't going to be easy you have to give up a lot of things, sacrifice and learn self control but as stated by Paul
2 Corinthians 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
So these things we must give up are so small compared to the benefit of our sacrifice.
As I read my bible tonight God revealed something neat to me and I want to share it with whoever would like to read
Matthew 13:3 Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: "Behold a sower went out to sow.
:4 And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them.
:5 Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth.
:6 But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away.
:7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them.
:8 But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
:9 He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"
I saw that when people receive the world of God either one of these things could happen; it could be as if you had never said anything to them, they could receive and immediately spring up but because of no depth wither away or they could be set on good ground and yield a hundredfold themselves. This is the very reason we should not be discouraged when our seed falls on bad ground. Keep spreading the seed and eventually it will fall on good ground.
